The Learning Support Team (LST) focuses on addressing the learning needs of our students by ensuring that:
- the full range of resources available withing the school has been accessed.
- effective implementation strategies are in place, regional specialist support and funding sources have been accessed.
- collaborative planning and programming occurs with all key stakeholders, relevant DET and health professionals.
The LST perform a variety of roles to ensure the learning needs of our students are being met by:
- developing the school’s policy for students experiencing difficulties in learning.
- monitor student performance outcomes.
- identify the school’s policy for students experiencing difficulties in learning.
- monitor student performance outcomes.
- identify the schools priorities of services in response to student needs.
- target provisions to assist students with literacy and numeracy requirements
- identify appropriate school-based strategies and programs to assist and prevent learning failure.
- complete medical health care procedures and provide support for students with injuries or illness.
- prepare applications for accessing resources, support services or alternative placements.
- implement referral procedures for early identification of student learning needs, communicate and liase procedures within the school community.
- assisting staff effectively support students experiencing difficulties
- provide direction for training and development programs.
