Callaghan College was established to provide new horizons and new opportunities for our students. In this spirit, Callaghan College Wallsend Campus (CCWC) aims to build upon its programs for talented students by offering enrolment in a High Potential and Gifted Education class (Aspire Program) and Creative and Performing Arts Enrichment Program (CAPA Program).

Timeline of Aspire and CAPA Program Dates: Year 7 2024
Thursday 4 May 2023: ONLINE Applications close for Aspire and CAPA Programs
Friday 12 May 2023: EMAILS with more information regarding Aspire exam, Aspire interviews and CAPA auditions will be sent out by this date.
Tuesday 30 May 2023: Aspire Program Exam (no supporting documents required)
Thursday 1/Friday 2 June 2023: Aspire Program Interviews held across two days. Each interview is around 10 minutes in length and students are to bring along a sample of work that reflects their skills/abilities. They will be be given the opportunity to discuss the skills/abilities utilised in composing the work samples.
Friday 2 June 2023: CAPA Auditions - small group auditions around 15 minutes in length, students will do a small group activity and be given the opportunity to present a short piece in their application area.
Friday 21 July 2023: Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by mail. Where the number of short-listed students exceeds the number of places available, a reserve list will be established. No further information about the reserve list will be available following initial notification by post.
Friday 28 July 2023: Last date for Aspire and CAPA Program acceptance or decline.
